Scottish National Indoor Open

Three Harriers juniors dropped down in distance to compete at the Scottish National Indoor Open. Jack Heathwood recorded a 400m PB sandwiched between some middle distance races while Robbie Ferguson and Fraser Armstrong dipped their toes into indoor racing for the first time at the Emirates Arena.

First in action was Jack Heathwood in section 3 of the 800m. Jack's time of 2:06.31 was a couple of seconds shy of his time in the Glasgow Yuletide Open Meeting at the tail end of last year but good enough for second place in the six-man heat.

Robbie Ferguson was next up in another section of the 800m. Robbie finished fourth in his heat but was only 1.4s outside the win in the tightly contested race.

Jack returned to action in the 400m, winning the tenth heat by the small margin of six one-hundreths of a second, clocking 57.26.

Lining up in the third of his triple race schedule, the day's events took its toll on Jack who ran a time of 4:28.20 in the third heat of the 1500m, ten seconds outside his PB.

Fraser Armstrong was the final runner in action and he enjoyed a commanding twenty-three second win to finish in a time of 4:53.07.
